Job Description:
The Institutional Research Coordinator supports the Office of Institutional Research staff in providing insightful data and analyses to inform planning, reporting, and institutional decision-making on topics such as enrollment, market research, student success, strategic planning, accreditation, assessment, evaluation of strategic initiatives, and the allocation of institutional resources. Working under the guidance of senior office staff, the IR Coordinator (a) identifies appropriate data sets and methodologies, (b) builds Power BI and Tableau dashboards, (c) prepares reports of results, and (d) communicates findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, or other quantitatively focused field
• Highly motivated and eager to learn
• Detail oriented
• Excellent communication skills: oral, written and interpersonal
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficiency with Excel
• Experience working with large data sets
• Familiarity with a programming language, particularly SQL
• Familiarity with statistical software such as R, Python or SPSS
• Previous experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
• Experience working in a higher education setting
