Job Description:

The Marketing & Communications Specialist is responsible for community engagement, coordinating internal & external communications, & strategic marketing & communications. Primarily, the position coordinates marketing & communications to students, academic departments, main and/or health science campus, and the broader public to educate and advertise department programs, services, and events. May be responsible for developing and maintaining social media platforms as well as the maintenance of the COMLS website with significant input from the appropriate team. Leverages communication tools to create positive awareness about the COMLS, sharing appropriate stories related to student and employer outcomes, impact, and engagement. Develops and executes promotional strategies and tactics including website and social media content, print pieces, campus news features, direct email campaigns and annual stakeholder reports. The position will consult on events and additional programming, as well as activities in partnership with other campus units, employers, and the greater Toledo community. Additionally, the position serves as a liaison and works closely with the UT Foundation and central UToledo Office of University Marketing and Communication.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required and minimum of three (3) years related work experience, or a combination of education and experience. Degree in English, creative writing, journalism, communications, public relations, or marketing preferred.
Knowledge of social media platforms preferred.
Experience working in higher education preferred.
Event coordination and community outreach experience preferred.
