Lead Support Worker - Community - Duncraig / Joondalup

  • Permanent Full -Time 76 hour fortnightly roster
  • Competitive Salary + Packaging ($18,550) and Leave Loading (17.5%) payable on annual leave
  • Location - Duncraig / Joondalup

 

We are seeking a Lead Support Worker to support individuals with complex needs, including sensory, physical and intellectual disabilities and often challenging behaviours.  Now is an exciting time to take the next step in your career. We are a leading provider of disability support services, offering choice and independence to thousands of Western Australians of all ages living with a disability and growing rapidly which can lead to career progression opportunities.  As a Lead, you will also support the Team Leader with mentoring and coaching of the Disability Support Workers in your team.

Proposed Lead Support Worker Roster = 76 hours per fortnight

Week 1 and 2 = Mon 0730-1515, Tue 0815-1615, Wed 0730-1415, Thu 0730-1500, Fri 0815-1615

 

Duties include:

  • Providing personal care support to promote optimum health and wellbeing; Providing direct support to assist clients to access appointments, social and leisure pursuits;
  • Working closely with families, professionals and other stakeholders in a person’s life taking on a ‘keyworker’ role;
  • Working to meet the unique needs of each individual by following their individual plans and working towards their bigger life goals, assisting them to capture their achievements along the way;
  • Providing coaching and mentoring to staff to ensure high quality, customer focus, safe and well organised operational services;

To be considered you need to demonstrate:

  • A commitment to Rocky Bay’s Purpose and Values
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar position within the Disability Sector
  • Completed Certificate III in Disability or other relevant tertiary qualification
  • Effective mentoring/coaching skills; Ability to efficiently problem solve, think clearly and quickly
  • The ability to work in a team and autonomously
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to use your initiative
  • A positive attitude, enthusiasm and flexibility
  • Working With Children Check required
