Support Worker - Supported Accommodation

We are looking for people to join our team who want to work with our customers, get to know them and support them to live the life they choose.

We are seeking committed, motivated, and energetic Support Workers to join our team across Rocky Bay. We are currently looking to fill shifts on a permanent part-time roster and would like people who are available Monday – Sunday for our supported accommodation houses. 

We have Support Worker positions in the following locations;

East Victoria Park = 52 and 57.5 hours per f/n rosters

Mosman Park = 51 hours per f/n roster

Pearsall = 69.5 and 72 hours per f/n rosters 

Thornlie = 56 and 73 hours per f/n rosters

Bassendean = 49 hours per f/n roster

Karrinyup = 69 hours per f/n roster

Girrawheen = 55.5 hours per f/n roster

Lockridge = 46.5 hours per f/n roster

We are looking for candidates who;

  • Can demonstrate a commitment to an inclusive and person-centred approach to how you work.
  • An enthusiastic and can-do attitude.
  • Show willingness to learn and try new things.
  • Have resilience to embrace change and work in a dynamic environment
  • Previous experience working with people with a disability, and comfortable working with people with a range of disabilities or if you are looking to move into disability are willing to learn and develop as a Support Worker.
  • Know how to work effectively as part of a team
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Can adapt to working in a person’s home and contribute to a positive environment
  • Willingness to learn new skills and maintain satisfactory compliance requirements in line with NDIS for a Support Worker.

What will you need to do?

One of the greatest parts of being a Support Worker is that no two days are the same.  However typically, we expect our people to:

  • Support our customers in all aspects of daily life including; facilitating and attending outings and medical appointments, support with daily activities – empowering people to do as much as they can around their home, administering medication and assisting with personal care requirements (including personal hygiene) whilst always demonstrating dignity and respect for our customers.
  • Have a detailed ongoing understanding of the person’s needs and overall well-being.
  • Communicate and engage with the customer in a relevant and meaningful way, ensuring that customers are engaged as much as possible throughout their day.
  • Support customers to maintain their home – doing daily tasks with them rather than for them.
  • Transport participants travelling to and from activities and outings using Rocky Bay vehicles.
  • Ensure all supports and services provided are accurately documented and accounted for through timesheets, case notes, incident reporting, etc.
