Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. Maintain program accreditation with various accrediting bodies and boards, such as the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE), HVAC Excellence by ESCO Institute, and the Louisiana Board of Barber Examiners.
2. Develop and implement strategies which support annual enrollment goals and align with the college’s strategic plan and the LCTCS 2030 goals.
3. Supervise the implementation of industry-based certifications and credentials focused on employability competencies into credit programs.
4. Facilitate data collection and analysis timelines to support academic planning, instructional program evaluation, and seek continuous improvement.
5. Coordinate and support the development of instructional semester schedules for all programs and endure qualified instructors are assigned to implement the schedule. This includes ensuring recruitment, hiring, supervision, training, observing, and reviewing of all staff in the area.
6. Conduct regular visits to all LDCC campus locations.
7. Provides leadership in developing, implementing, and maintaining curriculum and programs that respond to community needs, prepare students for success.
8. Promote faculty excellence through recruitment, onboarding, professional development, and evaluation strategies aligned with institutional priorities.
9. Teach program courses, if needed, within areas of qualified instruction.
10. Assist in the implementation of the College’s Strategic Plan in accordance with their provisions. Confers with and assists the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs and develops, prepares, and presents recommendations and reports as requested. Builds and manages the division budget consistent with LDCC policy and procedures.
11. Provide supervision and work closely with the department chairs, program coordinators and program directors to provide high quality educational experiences for the community served by the College.
12. Assists faculty in the acquisition of educational materials for all programs. Increases and develops articulation agreements with four-year institutions.
13. Responsible for leadership, guidance, and overall effectiveness in all appropriate accreditation, institutional effectiveness, and professional development endeavors. Serves on Standing and Ad Hoc Committees as needed.
14. Support, coordinate, and attend all program advisory meetings and represent the college on local teams and training alliances.
15. Coordinate and supervise the updating of all web pages, and brochures for programs.
16. Collaborate with K-12 and post-secondary institutions to expand dual enrollment, articulation agreements, and student transition pathways.
17. Serve on college committees and councils as assigned.
18. Assume responsibility for program evaluation, cooperate with follow-up studies and assist in placement of graduates of the area.
19. Develop annual goals for faculty members and programs.
20. Develop and implement relevant strategies to enhance workforce development initiatives in Louisiana Region 8. Support integration of industry-based credentials into programs to meet local and regional labor market needs.
21. Assume all other reasonable professional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Education: The required qualification for this position is a master’s degree in a related area with 2 years college-level teaching experience, preferably within a community college setting. The applicant must demonstrate progressive responsibility and administrative experience as a supervisor in a post-secondary educational setting and must have direct relevant experience with institutional accreditation (SACSCOC) and external programmatic oversight agencies or boards. The successful candidate should possess a strong record of leadership and must demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and administrators, and build trust and mutual respect. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required for this position. Demonstrated problem solving skills, and a strong understanding of budget management and curriculum development processes are essential. The successful candidate must be service-oriented, promote excellence, and embrace a commitment to professionalism.
