Hall Director	Big Rapids, MI 49307
Hall Director- Housing and Residence Life– Ferris State University. Provide comprehensive supervision of 1-3 residence halls (typically two). Hall Directors recruit, train, supervise, and mentor residence hall staff, 6-17 Resident Advisors, 1-3 Senior Staff Advisors and 15-30 front desk and night security personnel; actively participate on departmental and university-wide committees, manage facilities, advise Hall Council; train RA staff to advise House Councils; coordinate programming/community development and provide overall leadership in the academic, social and emotional development of students. In addition, Hall Directors serve as conduct hearing officers recommending educational outcomes up to and including dismissal from the university.

Primary responsibilities include teaching and advising students in a four-year BS Construction Management program (accredited by the American Council for Construction Education – ACCE) and its two-year AAS program – Building Construction Technology & Management. Teaching assignments will be from a wide range of construction technology and construction management topics. Candidates are expected to foster a meaningful learning experience for our students, faculty are expected to be student-oriented, advise, and integrate current technology into the learning environment. The Public Safety Officer is a sworn law enforcement position which involves protecting life and property, and the preservation of peace and good order through the enforcement of laws, ordinances, and policy. Duties include responding to emergency and non-emergency police calls for service, responsibility for performing assigned police work of varying degree of difficulty, utilizing community-oriented/problem-solving techniques which include community engagement, resource development, the enforcement of laws and ordinances, crime prevention, detection and investigation, apprehension of violators, and other related police functions. Ferris State University seeks qualified candidates to teach part-time in the Doctorate in Community College Leadership (DCCL) program. Instruction occurs on campus, at off-campus locations, and online. Course Assignment: IDSL 825 Foundations of Effective Leadership. Examines various leadership theories and the relationship between leadership styles and organizations, focusing on the optimal “fit” among an individual leader, a leadership role, and an organizational environment. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Applications will be retained until vacancies arise, at which time qualified candidates may be contacted. This posting is for a 7-1/2-week mixed-delivery course – typically one face-to-face weekend (either in Michigan or Houston, Texas), followed by online instruction. The anticipated need is for adjunct instructors to teach face-to-face courses on the Big Rapids campus, but online course offerings may also be available periodically. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State sites. Instruction will focus on providing students with the opportunity to become critical readers by increasing vocabulary, enhancing reading comprehension and recall, and improving reading skills to better prepare for college level reading.
