The Ferris State Torch is an entirely student-run publication created by students and for students. We publish 27 Wednesdays throughout the academic year and serve as a platform for student voices. From covering campus news to community stories, our mission is to inform, engage and represent the Ferris community while giving students hands-on experience in journalism and media. Our staff members gain real-world experience in reporting, interviewing, editing, and photography while learning the core values of journalism, including accuracy and integrity. Working for the Torch is an opportunity to build your portfolio, develop professional skills, and actively contribute to campus life while being part of a collaborative, student-led team. We welcome students from any major. The News Editor manages the News section by assigning stories to staff and freelance reporters, providing timely feedback, and being as up-to-date as possible with news, events, and happenings, either directly or indirectly related to the FSU community. The News Editor works with the Editor-in-Chief, other section editors, production staff, and copy editors to produce each week's issue.

Adjunct Instructor - Pharmaceutical Sciences Multiple Locations
To support the instructional needs of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department, the College of Pharmacy seeks to hire an adjunct faculty member with demonstrated expertise in Chemical Manufacturing Controls. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for teaching courses within the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Regulatory Affairs Certificate Program, which is delivered fully online. The candidate must possess a commitment to engaging students in a virtual environment. Successful candidates will have the ability to translate complex regulatory and manufacturing concepts into accessible, applied learning experiences. The anticipated start date for this position is March 2026 at the earliest and April 2026 at the latest allowing adequate time for course development in preparation for teaching during the Summer Semester. Courses are to be taught 100% online. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan, Illinois (excluding Chicago), Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, Texas, or Wisconsin after acceptance of employment and the duration of the time performing services for Ferris State University. Please note, if you relocate after being hired to a state not listed above, your employment at Ferris will not continue. If you reside in Michigan, your position will be part of the Ferris Non-Tenure Track Faculty Organization (FNTFO). Required: PhD, PharmD, or MS in a related field. Minimum of three years of professional experience in either teaching regulatory affairs topics or employment within the pharmaceutical industry, specifically in the area of regulatory affairs.
Assistant Professor - Dental Hygiene Big Rapids, MI 49307
The College of Health Professions at Ferris State University seeks a diverse group of outstanding applicants for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor of Dental Hygiene position, which includes didactic, clinical, and laboratory teaching, as well as related responsibilities in the Dental Hygiene programs and the Dental Clinic. Teaching may include undergraduate and graduate courses. Candidates are expected to foster a meaningful learning experience for our students, faculty are expected to be student-oriented, advise, and integrate current technology into the learning environment. Additionally, faculty will participate in collaborative efforts to foster curricular efforts, participate in assessment of student learning, and further develop programmatic enhancement. Specifically, we expect the candidate to be willing to engage students outside the classroom, support and expand our existing academic initiatives, and be willing to mentor students beyond a traditional academic advising role. In support of teaching, candidates will engage in scholarly/professional activities and participate in department, college, and university committees. Off-campus and online teaching may be required. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. The anticipated start date of this position is August 2026 at the earliest and January 2027 at the latest. Required: Master's degree in dental hygiene, education, or a health-related field. Current licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with Local Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide Certifications. Minimum of three years of dental hygiene experience and/or instructional experience in a dental hygiene education program.
Personal Counseling Center Graduate Intern Big Rapids, MI 49307
Provide individual, couple, and group short-term mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and outreach, education and campus programs for Ferris State University (FSU) students as part of a required graduate program clinical internship. Interns will be provided with compensation to assist with the costs of their internship at $16 per hour for up to 600 hours. Required: Applicants must have completed a bachelor's degree or be on track to graduate with their bachelor's degree by the end of their school's spring 2026 semester. Applicants must also be currently enrolled in a graduate level program (psychology, social work, professional counseling or related field) or must have been accepted to start a graduate level program (psychology, social work, professional counseling, or related field) with a start date no later than summer semester 2026. Applicants must be enrolled in their program's internship course throughout the duration of their internship with the Personal Counseling Center
