Adjunct Instructor - Core Health Sciences Multiple Locations
Adjunct Instructor for the Health Administration/Health Information Department. This position includes teaching core and interdisciplinary health courses in the College of Health Professions. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's campuses, or at statewide high schools. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. The candidate(s) selected for the position(s) must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. The anticipated start date of this position is January of 2026 at the earliest, and because this is a pooled position, we will be using this posting for semesters in the near future, so please continue to apply even after the initial review date. KCAD Sponsored Project Intern – Product Development (Student Position) Grand Rapids, MI 49503
Ferris State University’s Kendall College of Art and Design (KCAD) is working in partnership with the MiSTEM Network and Intermediate School Districts (ISDs) in Kent, Muskegon, and Ottawa counties to facilitate a K-12 design competition- The West Michigan Design Prize. KCAD will be working with elementary, middle, and high school teams within these counties to develop product ideas for the competition. KCAD is seeking three (3) student interns to support the design refinement stage of the competition. The KCAD student interns will be responsible for working directly with the K-12 student teams to refine their product ideas. This includes facilitating direct communication with teachers as students within the participating school districts, providing feedback to their ideas, creating visual renderings of student team concepts, and developing a poster for each team to use during their pitch at the competition event. This project will require KCAD student interns to manage relationships with teachers/students and apply visual communication skills in a professional manner. The project will require student interns with a background in product design, product visualization, graphic communication, or similar disciplines. All project activities will be done in collaboration with the West Michigan Design Prize KCAD representative, Jon Moroney. The KCAD student interns will work in a hybridized work flow that will include some in-person meetings with teachers/students, remote work, and design reviews with the project lead. The project will also require collaboration with the KCAD FlexLab to coordinate printing of posters for the competition. This is a short-term position that will coincide with a project timeline, starting on January 12, 2026 and ending on February 27, 2026. Student interns will work an average of 8 hours per week for eight weeks of project activity, not to exceed a total of 64 hours per student.
Assistant Professor - Marketing and Public Relations (9-month, Tenure Track) Big Rapids, MI 49307
The Department is looking for a qualified candidate to teach various undergraduate courses in public relations, with secondary responsibilities in teaching marketing and professional selling courses. The ideal candidate should be able to teach various public relations courses (e.g., Public Relations Principles, Public Relations Tactics, and Reputation Management Crisis and Communication). Teaching graduate courses in marketing and sales might also be required. The candidate will participate in developing and improving curriculum and curriculum delivery, assessment of student learning, service work including student engagement activities and committees, and engage in scholarly activities and professional development aligned with current and emergent programmatic needs. The candidate will assist to grow and expand the public relations program. Faculty members have professional responsibilities, including advising students, participating in committees, keeping regularly posted office hours, and participating in traditional functions with academic significance. Faculty members may be required to teach off-campus and/or online. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. The anticipated start date of this position is August 2026 at the earliest and January 2027 at the latest. However, these are estimated dates and can be revised if needed. Required: PhD or DBA in Marketing or related field such as Communication or Advertising. If doctorate is in related field, such as Communication or Advertising, 18 graduate hours in marketing courses are required. ABD may be considered. College-level teaching experience is required.
Associate Vice President for Advancement & Executive Director, The Ferris Foundation Big Rapids, MI 49307
The Associate Vice President (AVP) for Advancement is a key member of the University Advancement leadership team and an active participant in making strategic decisions affecting fundraising for Ferris State University and the Ferris Foundation. The AVP for Advancement ensures administrative oversight of the University’s major gifts, planned giving, corporate, and foundation fundraising efforts. Working in close collaboration with and reporting to the Vice President for University Advancement, the incumbent fosters a collaborative team culture and establishes metrics for success. Leading by example, the AVP will effectively cultivate and successfully solicit a select portfolio of prospects and donors capable of making transformational contributions to the institution. The AVP will serve as the lead principal gifts officer for the university, working to cultivate, solicit, close, and steward prospective donors with the capacity to make commitments of $500,000 and above. This pivotal role will drive gifts for general university purposes as well as those designated for specific colleges, campaign priorities, or other parts of Ferris State University, and will be essential to catalyzing lead donor support in the readiness and pre-launch phases of university campaigns. Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Minimum of ten years of experience with at least seven to ten years serving at the director level or above; a background of progressively increased responsibility in a comprehensive and sophisticated fundraising program, including supervisory experience.

Provide responsible independent secretarial support for the offices of the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Academic Senate. Provide receptionist duties and support to the VPAA office and staff. Additionally, perform clerical functions to support the Academic Senate Secretary, assist in the coordination of activities and the delivery of services for the Academic Senate committees. This position reports to the Associate Provost. The anticipated start date of this position is January 2026, however, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed. Required: Satisfactory completion of two years college or equivalent such as military technical training or business/technical schooling. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered. Equivalency for education is two years of work experience equals one year of education. Two years full-time work experience or equivalent in a professional setting (two years part-time is equivalent to one year full-time). Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products, virtual meeting platforms (i.e. Zoom and/or Teams), and excellent communication skills.
