Recruitment and Admissions Administrator Big Rapids, MI 49307
A full-time, 3 year temporary position that will direct and expand the College's existing recruitment efforts and coordinate all admission processes. The Recruitment and Admissions Administrator will report to the Assistant Dean of Student Success. The position will require substantial contact, virtual and in-person, with prospective students, applicants, and newly admitted students both internal to the University and from external colleges and universities. The administrator will work closely with the Assistant Dean and the College's Admissions Committee to implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy reliant on both traditional recruitment efforts and social media marketing. The admissions process will be directed by the Admissions Committee and the Recruitment and Admissions Administrator will assist with advancement of the College’s holistic process. Direct contact with prospective students and applicants will require effective interpersonal and communication skills. Event planning and participation in recruitment events will be required and may involve evenings and weekends and regional travel. Effective interface with the PharmCAS application portal will require computer skills and a working knowledge of the portal. The Recruitment/Admissions Administrator will be expected to have a working knowledge of the College and its curriculum and be able to properly triage inquiries to the Assistant Dean and Admissions Committee Chair. The anticipated start date for this position is April of 2025. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed.
Hall Director Big Rapids, MI 49307
Provide comprehensive supervision of 1-3 residence halls (typically two). Hall Directors recruit, train, supervise, and mentor residence hall staff, 6-17 Resident Advisors, 1-3 Desk Service Managers and 15-30 front desk and night security personnel; actively participate on departmental and university-wide committees, manage facilities, advise Hall Council; train RA staff to advise House Councils; coordinate programming/community development and provide overall leadership in the academic, social and emotional development of students. In addition, Hall Directors serve as conduct hearing officers recommending educational outcomes up to and including dismissal from the university. Required: Bachelor’s degree. Two or more years of residence life experience in a University setting required.
Adjunct Instructor 1 - Psychology (Part-time, Temporary) Big Rapids, MI 49307
The Social and Behavioral Sciences Department in the College of Arts, Sciences and Education seeks applicants to provide instruction for a variety of face-to-face and online Psychology courses on the Big Rapids, MI campus. Needs vary from semester to semester and may include Introduction to Psychology and/or other Psychology courses as determined by instructor qualification and departmental needs. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Courses are to be taught in person at Ferris State University's Big Rapids campus and/or online. The candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start dates will be August 2025 or January 2026 based on department needs. Required: Master's degree in Psychology. Higher education teaching experience.
Adjunct Instructor 3 - Anthropology Big Rapids, MI 49307
The Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences seeks qualified candidates to teach courses in both introductory Cultural Anthropology and Physical Anthropology, plus other Anthropology courses in keeping with instructor qualifications and department demand. Courses are to be taught in person on Ferris State University's Big Rapids Campus and/or online. The candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date for this position is August 2025. Required: Master's degree in Anthropology. Higher education teaching experience. Prior teaching experience. Evidence of the potential for effective and innovative instructional practices.
HVACR Mechanic Big Rapids, MI 49307
Perform skilled trades work in repairing, installing, diagnosing, and maintaining heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems, refrigeration and associated equipment on University property. These positions are located in Big Rapids, MI and the current anticipated shift for the positions will be M-F, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Assignment requires the availability to work weekends and evening shifts as needed and respond to emergency calls. Required to carry pager. Required: High school diploma or GED equivalency. Possession of Certificate of completion in Universal Application of Refrigerant Transition. Two years of work experience in commercial, industrial, and/or residential HVACR.
