Adjunct Instructor - DCCL: IDSL 865 Leveraging Human Resources, Doctorate in Community College Leadership

| Ferris State University seeks qualified candidates to teach part-time in the Doctorate in Community College Leadership (DCCL) program. Instruction occurs on campus, at off-campus locations, and online. Course Assignment: IDSL 865 Leveraging Human Resources. Examines methods for maximizing the college’s human resources, including the expertise needed to provide leadership in designing effective models of employee involvement and development within the context of labor laws, agreements, and governance structures. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Applications will be retained until vacancies arise, at which time qualified candidates may be contacted. This posting is for a 7-1/2 week mixed delivery course – typically one face-to-face weekend (either in Michigan or Houston, Texas) followed by online instruction. The candidate(s) must reside in Michigan, Illinois (excluding Chicago), Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, Texas, or Wisconsin after acceptance of employment and the duration of time performing services for Ferris State University. Please note, if you relocate after being hired to a state not listed above, your employment with Ferris will not continue. The anticipated start date of this position is August 2026 for the Fall semester. Required: Earned doctorate (PhD, EdD, or JD) in a discipline relevant to community college leadership. Significant administrative experience in a community college or relevant subject-matter expertise (e.g., organizational design, workforce planning, or talent development initiatives). Applicants must demonstrate substantial leadership or administrative experience at the mid- to senior level within a community college or comparable higher education institution, along with documented teaching experience in higher education. |

Examines various leadership theories and the relationship between leadership styles and organizations, focusing on the optimal “fit” among an individual leader, a leadership role, and an organizational environment. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Adjunct Instructor - Artificial Intelligence

| Part-time teaching and related responsibilities: utilizing face-to-face, blended and/or online modes of delivery; delivery on or off campus; assuring/improving learning through assessment; close consultation with program faculty, as well as training via the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning. The anticipated need is for adjunct instructors to teach face-to-face courses on the Big Rapids campus, but online course offerings may also be available periodically. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State's sites and possibly online. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. The anticipated start date of this position is August of 2026 at the earliest and January of 2027 at the latest. However, these are estimated dates and can be revised as needed. Required: Master’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, IT/IS Security/Intelligence or related field from an accredited college or university. Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Security & Intelligence or similar field with emphasis in AI, data science or cybersecurity. A certificate or evidence of specialized training, education or publication in the area the candidate will teach, which may include the following relevant areas: PowerBI, data mining and analysis; interface design; visual/link analysis; data analysis; data base; artificial intelligence, accounting/financial analysis, health care data analysis; marketing data analysis; AWS; Microsoft Fabric; ethics. Three years of industry experience or two years industry experience plus additional education beyond master's degree or certifications in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data science or related field in information systems. |

| Reporting to the Executive Director, Campus Auxiliary Services, the Director of Dining Services will provide innovative, strategic, and comprehensive leadership for an extensive self-operated dining program, ensuring a high-quality dining experience for the campus community. The Director of Dining Services oversees all culinary operations, including staff management, menu planning, budgeting, and safety compliance, to ensure high-quality food service. They manage purchasing, the student experience, staff relationships, and team training to meet nutritional, regulatory, and budgetary goals. Required: Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, food and nutrition, business, or a related discipline. Minimum of ten years progressive professional experience in a food service/hospitality environment. Minimum five years of significant supervisory experience in a large, diverse, multi-unit operation. Experience managing bargaining unit staff. |

Tour Guide (Student Position)

| Do you enjoy public speaking and answering questions? If so, becoming a tour guide allows you to do just that, with a flexible schedule. Tour Guides will give walking tours of campus, escort groups to and from various campus locations, and share their love of Ferris to prospective students that are coming to visit in a large group from schools or organizations. Based on semester, Tour Guides will also have a role with the Crimson and Gold program and Orientation. |
