Adjunct Instructor 1 - Automotive Management Multiple Locations
Teach BS degree level coursework in the College of Engineering Technology. Depending on qualifications, subjects taught could include: Automotive Foundations, Automotive Marketing and Distribution, Automotive Accounting, Automotive Culture, Management of Fixed or Variable Operations, Warranty and Customer Relations, or Internet and Social Media Marketing. A focus on student success is expected. Office hours are required with at least one hour for each class taught. Use of current technology is expected. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. For in-person or hybrid teaching positions: Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. For 100% online teaching positions: Courses are to be taught online. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan, Illinois (excluding Chicago), Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, or Wisconsin after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date of this position is August 2025 at the earliest and January 2026 at the latest.
Adjunct Instructor 1 - Heavy Equipment Multiple Locations
The College of Engineering Technology is seeking adjunct instructors to teach Heavy Equipment courses. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. This posting is being used for face to face and/or online instruction. However, the candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date of this position is August of 2025 at the earliest and January of 2026 at the latest. For in-person or hybrid teaching positions: Courses are to be taught in-person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidates(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. For 100% online teaching positions: Courses are to be taught online. the candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan, Illinois (excluding Chicago), Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, or Wisconsin after acceptance of employment. Required: Qualification by Credential: Master's Degree in Heavy Equipment or Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline OR a Master's degree and 18 graduate hours in Heavy Equipment or Automotive Engineering or related discipline. Qualification by Tested Experience: Bachelor's degree in Heavy Equipment Service Engineering Technology or Equivalent degree. Minimum of three years full-time experience in the Heavy Equipment Service field or teaching in a Heavy Equipment related setting, within the previous five years. Assistant Director of Financial Aid Big Rapids, MI 49307
Provide expert financial aid counseling to campus constituents and office staff, including appropriate information on aid eligibility, debt management, cost of attendance at Ferris State University and more. Maintain expert knowledge concerning the regulatory governance of institutional, state, and federal financial aid programs, with an ability to convey complex financial aid concepts to a diverse campus population from prospective students to executive leadership. Research, develop and manage policies and processes designed to ensure the effective distribution of financial resources, leveraging efficiencies that minimize underutilization of funds and maximize student recruitment, retention, and success. Troubleshoot difficult awarding scenarios and provide equitable alternatives and solutions, including approving fund exception requests or additional funding requests with budget oversight. Required: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. One year of full-time experience in Financial Aid, in a higher education setting. Experience with expediting complex Financial Aid initiatives, including analysis and reporting of financial information. Experience communicating effectively with a diverse constituency. Experience exercising effective professional judgment.
Data Analyst - Pharmaceutical Sciences (Full-time temporary) Grand Rapids, MI 49503
This position is a full-time temporary grant funded position approved through December 31st, 2025. The position will end upon expiration of the grant but could be renewed annually if funding is extended. The successful candidate hired for this position will use a variety of data sources to improve database management and reporting quality. The work involves the collection, aggregation, and evaluation of health care data using advanced functions in SQL and Python and leveraging advanced visualization techniques such as Power BI. With multiple grants and a growing research team, we require a data analyst who understands project management and can help oversee and coordinate team members, projects, and internal meetings. The anticipated start date for this position is March of 2025. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed. Required: M.S. in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Information Management, Data Science and Analytics or related field. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Equivalency for education is two years of full-time related work experience equals one year of education. Prior experience with any or all of the following database and reporting tools: Web Development Tools, Oracle, SQL, Python, Excel, SQL Server Reporting Services, Visual Basic, Power BI, and/or Tableau. One year experience developing dashboards for medical/dental/veterinary clinicians. Two years prior experience with medical terminology and coding is preferred. Two years part-time is equivalent to one year full-time.
Pharmacy Practice Research Assistant Grand Rapids, MI 49503
This position is a full-time, temporary, grant funded position ending 12/31/25. If the grant funding is extended, there is a potential the position could be extended as well in 12-month intervals. The successful candidate hired for this position will provide responsible, independent secretarial support requiring independent interpretation of the policies and procedures of a major unit related work areas. The candidate will coordinate meetings and communications with research partners and team members. The candidate will assist with tracking grants and expenses for our unit. The anticipated start date for this position is March of 2025. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed. Required: Satisfactory of two/three years of college or equivalent. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Equivalency for education is two years of work experience equals one year of education. At least two years prior work experience to include advanced bookkeeping, office supervisory responsibility, and public contact where tact and diplomacy are required. Two years part-time is equivalent to one year full-time.
