| Summary of Position: |
The College of Business at Ferris State University is seeking an Administrative Specialist. Working under the general direction of an administrator, use independent judgment to perform a variety of administrative duties. Primary responsibilities will include: supporting student services, including serving as a point of contact and assisting the Office of Student Academic Affairs, and maintaining the student services webpage.
Provide support to the Dean's Office as needed during clerical or administrative staff absences. As part of the College of Business, you will join a team committed to experiential learning, strong industry partnerships, and student success. This role offers the opportunity to support innovative programs, build meaningful connections with students and community partners, and help shape the next generation of Bulldog graduates.
The Administrative Specialist is responsible for coordinating student recruitment and engagement initiatives for the College of Business. The successful candidate will implement recruitment strategies that support the college's mission, vision, and enrollment goals.
The anticipated start date for this position is November 2026. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed. |

| Required Work Experience: |
Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Office suite, Adobe, and other word-processing, LMS, and visual graphics platforms. Demonstrate sustained accomplishments in event coordination, independent decision-making, and the implementation of policies and procedures.

| Essential Duties/Responsibilities: |
Serve as a liaison between college stakeholders (e.g., students, prospective students, and registered student organizations).
Prepare, or assist in preparing, special projects.
Regularly deal with sensitive and confidential matters. Including assisting in situations involving sensitive issues or decision-making otherwise handled by the supervisor.
Participate in planning and executing recruitment activities.
Maintain current knowledge of pertinent regulations, compliance issues, and university policies applicable to the specific area of assignment. Independently answer inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources.
Work directly with students to provide support services and resources.
Maintaining the confidentiality of designated information in accordance with FERPA, HIPAA, and other applicable standards.
Assist with maintaining the College's website pages.
Interview, recommend for hire, and supervise student employees
Collect, organize, and prepare data for internal reporting, state compliance, accreditation reviews, and key performance indicators.
Assist with the planning and execution of events such as orientations, welcome back week, homecoming, and award ceremonies.
Carries out responsibilities in accordance with university policies and applicable laws.
Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of information pursuant to university policies and/or state or federal laws.
Cultivates an environment of belonging that values, respects, supports, and celebrates individual similarities and differences, allowing students, faculty, and staff to thrive authentically.
Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area. |

Participate in university committees, task forces, and working groups as assigned.
Attend professional development workshops, training sessions, and conferences relevant to dual enrollment, transfer, and administrative operations.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the unit and division. |
