| Summary of Position: |
The University Archives is preparing to temporarily relocate its holdings to facilitate building renovations. We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented student to assist archival staff in the safe, organized movement of collections into designated temporary storage spaces. This position could continue into the fall depending on completion of tasks over the summer. Potential to work full time for the summer. |

| Position Requirements: |
Currently enrolled university student or eligible for summer employment
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs repeatedly
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures precisely
Dependable and punctual with good organizational skills
Comfort working in dusty or archival storage environments |

| Essential Duties/Responsibilities: |
Physically transport archival boxes, folders, flat files, and other collection materials from existing storage areas to temporary locations designated by archival staff
Follow established archival handling protocols to protect fragile, rare, and irreplaceable materials during transit
Assist in organizing and labeling boxes and shelving units within temporary spaces according to archivists' instructions
Identify and flag materials showing signs of damage, mold, or instability to supervising staff before and during the move
Support archival staff with other collection management tasks as assigned during and after the transition |
