Summary of Position: Work within the custodial staff to present a clean, safe, healthy environment for all facilities maintained by the Facilities Department and work with the Facilities Department, accomplishing custodial and maintenance requirements of the College.
Keep the building up to the standards that are set by the College and the Building Manager. Must be able to work days, nights, and weekends as assigned by Supervisor.

Required Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.  
Required Work Experience: Two years custodial experience.  
Required Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver's license

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: Custodial experience in an educational facility.
General maintenance experience.
 
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: To maintain a presentable, clean, safe, and healthy facility with responsibilities consisting of but not limited to:
Hard and resilient floor care, sweeping, mopping, machine cleaning and waxing.
Carpet care, vacuuming, spot cleaning and extraction.
Trash, recycling and compost removal from premises.
Restroom cleaning; fixtures, mirrors, hard surfaces, restocking.
Window washing.
Classroom cleaning; all aspects.
Office cleaning; all aspects.
Facility entrances and grounds trash pick-up and cleaning.
Setting up rooms and spaces for various College functions and events including set-up, tear down, and reorganization of room furnishings in a short time.
Other facility cleaning as required.
Assisting the Facility Security Department when required.
Assisting the Facilities Department with various task as assigned when required
Occasional duty to cover front desk and telephone as a relief person
Operates a university or personal vehicle safely while carrying out job responsibilities.
Opening and closing of the facilities as needed
Building checks during holiday closings as assigned
Change Light bulbs
Paint walls and floor surfaces as required. This includes patching and repairing walls and floor surfaces
Move room furniture as required
Assist in minor room finish demolition projects (carpet and other flooring materials, acoustical ceiling tiles, gypsum wall boards, etc.)
Shovel sidewalks and salt entryways and walkways
Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives.
Cultivates an environment of belonging that values, respects, supports, and celebrates individual similarities and differences, allowing students, faculty and staff to thrive authentically.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
 
Marginal Duties/Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned that are crucial to the upkeep of the College and necessary to accomplish the tasks as allocated to the Facilities department  
Skills and Abilities: Ability to work assigned schedules which may include days, evenings and weekends.
Ability to work occasional overtime.
Computer literacy for keeping schedules, assignments, and other communications.
Demonstrated successful experience working directly with people from diverse backgrounds, including cultural, educational, socioeconomic and life experiences.
