Summary of Position: |
Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Clinic, including supervision of staff. Collaborate with Assistant Dean for Clinical Education to develop clinic schedules, marketing plans, clinic policies and procedures, and to complete other duties as assigned.
The anticipated start date of this position is September 2025. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed. |

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: |
MBA, MPH, MHA, O.D. and/or experience with healthcare software systems, healthcare revenue cycle, and project implementation is preferred. |

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: |
Develop, implement and coordinate the operational activities of the University Eye Center, providing orientation and training for interns, faculty and staff.
Direct clinic activities, coordinating and directing the flow of work and service, with management of clinic administrative support and clerical staff being the primary function of the position.
Interview, select, train, direct, evaluate, and discipline clinic staff, including student employees.
Create and maintain a supportive and professional relationship with providers, administrative staff, faculty, students and clerical members.
Answer inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources, and provide explanation and interpretation of the policies, requirements, practices and procedures of the University Eye Center, the College, and the University.
Acts as the UEC HIPAA Privacy Officer.
Coordinate activities with other departments, colleges, divisions and outside sources.
Monitor regulatory and statutory compliance as it relates to clinical operations.
Independently research, evaluate, adjust, or purge a variety of important data, documents, etc.
Perform month-end financial reporting.
Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education.
Oversee inventory management and control procedures within the University Eye Center.
Coordinate emergency clinical changes due to illness, weather, utility outages, etc.
Draft and/or maintain policies, procedures and practices in the clinic to better serve both the educational mission (students) and the patient care needs of our patients..
Communicate to effectively engage diverse populations within the UEC, including providers, staff, students, faculty and patients.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with University policies and applicable laws.
Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education/Associate Dean/Dean to pose and/or initiate improved procedures and practices in the clinic to better serve both the educational (students) and the patient care needs.
Report directly to the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education.
Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of designated information.
Coordinate events at the UEC, including frame shows and other promotional activities.
Assist staff with duties as needed.

Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area. |

Represent the University Eye Center at various conferences and meetings.
Serve on College and University committees. |

Develop office procedures as indicated, utilizing proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
