Summary of Position: |
Responsible for the coordination, oversight and management of the equipment activities for the Ferris State football team at the NCAA Division II level that meets all industry and competitive safeguard standards. Pursuant to FSU-HRPP 2005:44, "Students currently admitted on a full-time basis, defined as carrying at least 9 credits per semester, to a Ferris State University graduate program and earning credits toward a graduate degree, may qualify for a Graduate Project Assistant (GPA) position". Position is 20 hours per week and the work year is August 1 - May 31. |

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: |
Coordination of issue, maintenance and repair of football team game and practice equipment. Recruit and recommend for hire, train and supervise equipment student staff. Operates university motorized vehicles in a safe manner while performing job duties. Coordinate and supervise team support staff preparation for all football home games, special events and road games as required. Drive equipment to away games. Schedule and monitor student work time. Coordinate football team equipment travel preparation. Coordinate day -to-day practice uniform and equipment needs and staffing for football team. Develop and implement daily laundry schedule for football team. Coordinate and perform daily repairs and maintenance on individual equipment as needed. Supervise student staff. Support, promote, and develop University student enrollment and retention initiatives. Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members. Any other duties assigned within the position classification area. |

Knowledge of the NCAA rules and guidelines Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience in packing and planning for away contests Experience with the day-to-day problem solving associated with equipment duties and responsibilities. Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. |
