Summary of Position: |
The Graphic Design Assistant will aid the Graphic Designer in the creation, implementation, and maintenance of physical and digital graphic assets that support the broader work of the KCAD Communications team, learning new skills and improving existing ones in the process.
The position offers a maximum of 10 hours/week. Weekly schedule will be decided based on the student's availability and the Communications team's needs. Hours are flexible and work around the student's course schedule as it changes from semester to semester.

Position Requirements: |
- Strong working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, in particular InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. - Experience organizing files for project management - Experience preparing files for print production - A willingness to try new things and learn on the job |

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: |
- Concept, layout, design and production of original marketing, advertising, and promotional materials—both print and digital—to shape and enhance KCAD’s visual identity.
- Translate existing design collateral into additional formats, sizes, and use cases.
- Make content updates to existing design collateral.
- Understand and adhere to KCAD and Ferris State University brand standards in all facets of work.
- Organize projects into Communications team's Microsoft Team's project management system.
- Produce printed collateral using the KCAD FLEXlab and other on-campus resources as needed.
- Attend project discovery meetings with internal/external clients as needed.
- Departmental housekeeping projects as assigned
