The Annual Giving Philanthropy Officer will support the Ferris Foundation and Advancement team in University Advancement and Marketing to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward a targeted portfolio of annual giving prospects. The ability to achieve success will be realized through strong internal partnerships as well as working with alumni, donors and friends of the university to help support Ferris’s commitment to student success in the achievement of a strong education by forging meaningful philanthropic relationships. |

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: |
1. Fundraising experience in a university environment closing gifts at an annual fund level of $1k-$50k.
2. Work experience in higher education or in other large complex organizations.
3. Strong interpersonal, team and leadership skills, tact and flexibility in working with diverse populations.
4. Ability to plan and develop marketing strategies.
5. Ability to multi-task competing priorities, interruptions, and inquires with a high level of professionalism and tolerance for ambiguity.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: |
Manage a personal portfolio of donors and prospects (annual giving leadership level) which helps to maintain a pipeline of philanthropic support helping to grow the Fund for Ferris and other key university initiatives.
Works in collaboration with the Alumni Relations, Annual Giving and Advancement Communication staff to increase philanthropic support for annual giving initiatives such as Giving Tuesday and One Day for Dawgs (Day of Giving) to secure lead and matching gifts.
Must be comfortable creating team-supportive structures such as prospect list and portfolio management, data accuracy, and serve as a second resource of support and guidance for Ferris fundraisers/key university initiatives.
Maintains complete and timely records of contacts with prospects and donors by utilizing University Advancement's CRM.
Maintains the confidentiality of donor data, records and gifts
Generate appropriate donor related documents
Gain a comprehensive understanding of the university's funding priorities and effectively articulate needs to individual donors.
Collaborate with colleagues within University Advancement and Marketing and across the campus community
Serve as an active team member in the development and implementation of University Advancement goals
Research and incorporate ongoing annual fund best practices to help develop new and creative strategies to increase support.
Reports directly to the Associate Vice President for Advancement and works in conjunction with the Executive Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving.
Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members
Support, promote, and develop University student enrollment and retention initiatives.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
