Summary of Position: The Title IX Coordinator reports to the Dean of Student Life and has the primary responsibility of coordinating and implementing the University’s compliance efforts with Title IX, working closely with the Vice President of Student Affairs, Associate Vice President of Human Resources, Director of Equal Opportunity, General Counsel, and other administrative leaders, and has no other duties that create a conflict of interest.

The Title IX Coordinator leads and proactively influences University-wide Title IX planning, monitoring, reporting, grievance procedures, education, prevention, and training efforts.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in adult education, student affairs, higher education, social work, counseling, law/legal studies or related field.  
Required Work Experience: Three years of professional experience post-Bachelor's degree. Demonstrated professional experience related to Title IX. Demonstrated experience in managing complaints, conducting investigations, and/or effectively resolving cases in areas such as student conduct, legal offices, law enforcement, or related fields.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: Master's Degree from an accredited institution in adult education, student affairs, higher education, social work, counseling, law/legal studies or related field.
Professional Title IX Coordinator experience.
Experience with committees and teams to achieve complex goals and projects.
 
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Oversee Title IX compliance, including investigations of complaints, review and implementation of related policies and grievance procedures, education and prevention efforts, responsible employee training, and skill-specific training for investigators and conduct case managers.

Serve as the central point of coordination for Title IX compliance among University offices including the main campus, all state-wide locations, and Kendall College of Art & Design, Deputy Title IX coordinator, and committees with responsibilities relating to Title IX.

Meet and communicate regularly with Deputy Title IX Coordinator and partners in Athletics, Human Resources, Equal Opportunity, Extended and International Operations, and Student Life.

Communicate with the Department of Public Safety regarding Title IX obligations and serves as a resource on Title IX matters.

Execute in a timely manner, the University’s response to alleged violations of Title IX, including intake meetings, conducting or assigning someone to conduct investigations, overseeing implementation of formal and informal resolution procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements and University policy, and ensuring a fair and neutral process for all involved.

Meet with parties to provide information regarding available resources, interim measures, and reporting and resolution options, and responds appropriately.

Review resolutions of all Title IX related complaints to ensure the response took effective action to end the discrimination, prevent its recurrence, and remedy its efforts.

Maintain a record keeping system to organize and maintain disclosures, and compile and review records and data regarding disclosures.

Serve as a Campus Security Authority and Responsible Employee as defined by Clery and Title IX.

Work with the Antiviolence Alliance and other university offices to develop and implement Title IX prevention and education programs including bystander intervention training and other primary prevention workshops and campaigns.

Work with the Antiviolence Alliance and other university offices to conduct a biannual campus-wide climate survey to assess the university community’s overall understanding of harassment and gender-based violence; to identify trends and barriers that are counterproductive to a respectful, violence-free environment; and to customize training programs to eliminate the conduct and its efforts on the well-being of the campus community. Identify areas of risk and/or trends and coordinates efforts to effectively address.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge and information regarding Title IX law, regulations and regulatory guidance, as well as best practices. Complete annual training as required by Title IX.

Serve on the Behavioral Review Team and provide case management for each disclosed Title IX incident.

Develop and maintain content for the University Title IX webpage.

Coordinate and design the Title IX section of the online student orientation platform. Provide periodic and annual reports as appropriate.

Demonstrated understanding and support of the University’s mission, vision, and core values.

Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members.

Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.

Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision to manage multiple tasks and an on-going and complex caseload of Title IX incidents and complaints.

Must have a sense of urgency in approaching responsibilities in light of Title IX law and guidance.

Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing).
