Summary of Position: |
The School of Education seeks candidates to teach on a semester-by-semester, as needed basis, in the Recreation Management and Leisure Services program. Candidates must be available to teach face-to-face during the hours of 9 am -5 pm.
This is a pooled position. One or more candidates may be hired as needed to teach courses on a semester-by-semester basis.
Candidates selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment.
The anticipated start date of this position is August 2023 at the earliest and January 2024 at the latest. |

Master’s degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Recreation Management, Sports Science, Sports Management, or related field. |

2 years teaching in Higher Education or K-12. |

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: |
Teach assigned course in Recreation, Management and Leisure Services.
Provide up-to-date course work and materials.
Maintain a safe and engaging learning environment.
Meet classes at their scheduled times and formats
Effective teaching by way of good communication, assessment of student learning, and adaptations to various levels of preparation.
Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include but are not limited to keeping regular office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient to students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (i.e., reporting initial participation, submitting final grades on time). Faculty members may be required to teach off-campus or in an on-line environment.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
