Tour Guide (Student Position)

| Do you enjoy public speaking and answering questions? If so, becoming a tour guide allows you to do just that, with a flexible schedule. Tour Guides will give walking tours of campus, escort groups to and from various campus locations, and share their love of Ferris to prospective students that are coming to visit in a large group from schools or organizations. Based on semester, Tour Guides will also have a role with the Crimson and Gold program and Orientation. |

| The Director of Labor Relations leads the university's strategy regarding unionized employees, acting as the primary negotiator and liaison with labor unions. They are responsible for collective bargaining, administering labor contracts, managing grievances, ensuring compliance with labor laws (e.g., state laws), and maintaining positive labor-management partnerships. Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in labor relations, human resources, business, or a related field. Five years professional work experience in the field of labor relations. Must have experience negotiating collective bargaining agreements as the chief/assistant spokesperson and preparing for arbitrations. Must have demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills. |

| Perform skilled trades work in assembling, repairing, and installing various plumbing systems including hot water systems under high or low pressure. Repair and maintenance of gas fired appliances. Normal working hours for this position are anticipated to be M-F, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Will be required to be on-call. Required: High school diploma or GED equivalency. Valid State of Michigan Journeyman Plumber License. Valid driver's license. No additional work experience needed beyond what is required to obtain a Journeyman Plumber license. |

| The Ferris State Torch is an entirely student-run publication created by students and for students. We publish 27 Wednesdays throughout the academic year and serve as a platform for student voices. From covering campus news to community stories, our mission is to inform, engage and represent the Ferris community while giving students hands-on experience in journalism and media. Our staff members gain real-world experience in reporting, interviewing, editing, and photography while learning the core values of journalism, including accuracy and integrity. Staff reporters are writers charged with generating story ideas and reporting on news, entertainment, culture, and/or sports stories. Working with their section editors, staff writers are responsible for providing breaking, generated, or assigned stories by the weekly deadline. They may be assigned a regular beat by their section editor. Staff writers also are responsible for improving the quality and content of copy they produce as directed by editorial staff. |
