Lead Mission‑Critical Enterprise Systems as an ERP Architect at CWI!

Are you an experienced ERP professional ready to shape the future of administrative systems at a fast‑growing institution? The College of Western Idaho (CWI) is seeking an ERP Architect to oversee the performance, reliability, and strategic evolution of the CWI ERP system—ensuring secure, efficient, and high‑quality technical operations across the college. We are looking for a technical professional with a genuine desire to help develop and own a complex, highly interconnected system.

Why Join CWI?

At CWI, you’ll play a central role in implementing enterprise‑level improvements, optimizing backend business processes, supporting major system upgrades, and partnering with teams to deliver technological solutions that drive student and institutional success. Ellucian Colleague ERP is the authoritative source for student, HR, and financial data at CWI, driving identity and data flows across all downstream platforms. You will develop deep working knowledge of Colleague, the Ellucian Ethos integration platform, and higher education business processes across student, HR, and finance domains. This is an opportunity for a skilled technical leader to influence long‑term ERP strategy at a rapidly expanding community college.

Benefits:

CWI offers one of the most affordable and comprehensive benefits packages in higher education, including:

  • Premium healthcare plans

  • 11%+ employer retirement contributions

  • Tuition discounts

  • Generous personal leave

  • Professional development opportunities

Strategic ERP Leadership & Systems Management:

  • Ensure the reliable operation, performance, and security of the CWI Student ERP system and related enterprise applications

  • Troubleshoot and resolve ERP‑related hardware, software, and access issues

  • Coordinate software releases, fixes, and upgrades in collaboration with technical teams

  • Oversee technical support activities, problem resolution workflows, and backend business process optimization

  • Work with classic 3-tier enterprise applications

  • Work with enterprise cloud SAAS applications

Process Improvement & Quality Assurance:

  • Lead business process review and re‑engineering efforts to improve efficiency and data integrity

  • Manage data conversions, testing, documentation, and approval steps for system changes

  • Ensure all system modifications are fully documented, thoroughly tested, and approved by IT leadership

  • A disciplined approach to change management, environment maintenance, and documentation

  • Drive continuous quality improvements, including patch management and roadmap planning

Project Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Lead small to large‑scale ERP projects and support project managers and business analysts on complex initiatives

  • Comfortable translating technical constraints into business terms for non-technical stakeholders

  • Collaborate with team members on configuration changes, functionality deployments, testing, change management, and training

  • Enforce project management methodologies and enterprise system implementation practices

  • Take initiative on operational improvements, troubleshooting, and project completion

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical discipline

  • 5 years of ERP management experience within an IT organization

  • 5 years enterprise systems experience in application administration, or IT infrastructure role

  • Experience with Ellucian Colleague or other major ERP platforms preferred

  • Hands-on experience administering Windows Server and IIS, including deploying, configuring, and maintaining web-hosted APIs and application services

  • Strong MS SQL Server proficiency covering schema understanding, query writing, performance diagnosis, and routine database maintenance

  • Experience with directory services and identity lifecycle management, preferably Active Directory, with a solid grasp of how authoritative source systems drive downstream account provisioning across enterprise platforms

  • Experience with Tomcat, MS SQL Server, middleware integrations and the Ellucian Ethos Platform preferred

  • Experience working within or alongside ERP or SIS platforms

  • Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot RESTful API integrations between enterprise systems

  • Working knowledge of enterprise web content management systems

  • Strong command-line proficiency across both Windows and Unix-style environments

  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills. You debug before you escalate.

  • Familiarity with enterprise SAAS applications is preferred

  • Familiarity with Crystal Reports, Business Objects, and MS SQL repo
