At the College of Western Idaho (CWI), we’re looking for a Supervisor, Central Shipping & Receiving who can keep our campus community running smoothly by ensuring every delivery, shipment, and supply gets where it needs to go—on time and in top condition. In this vital role, you’ll oversee day-to-day warehouse and mail operations, lead and coach a small team, and keep accurate inventory of the materials that power our classrooms, labs, and offices. Key Responsibilities:
Lead and Develop the Mail and Warehouse Team
- Supervise, train, and evaluate mail delivery staff to ensure efficient and high-quality service.
- Promote a safe, organized, and collaborative work environment.
- Model professionalism and accountability in daily operations and customer interactions.
Oversee Shipping, Receiving, and Mail Operations
- Manage the receipt, inspection, and documentation of all incoming deliveries for accuracy and condition.
- Coordinate outgoing shipments, labeling, packaging, and carrier pickups.
- Administer all mail-related services, maintaining strong coordination with the U.S. Postal Service and internal stakeholders.
Maintain Accurate Inventory and Tracking Systems
- Monitor inventory levels using digital tools and scanning equipment for real-time tracking.
- Conduct cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and support supply replenishment.
- Ensure materials are properly stored, rotated, and distributed to the correct locations.
Ensure Operational Efficiency and Campus Support
- Load and unload deliveries using appropriate equipment while maintaining safety standards.
- Collaborate with departments, vendors, and drivers to support timely, accurate deliveries across CWI campuses.
- Uphold cleanliness, safety, and organization in all warehouse and mail areas.
Minimum Qualifications:
• At least one year experience accurately inspecting deliveries, documenting inventory, and identifying discrepancies.
• Experience leading or managing others.
• Experience in prioritizing tasks, managing physical and digital inventory, and maintaining a clean workspace.
• Effective written and verbal communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Advanced computer skills required, including familiarity with inventory management systems, email, Microsoft Office Suite and scanning tools.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and the ability to safely operate a variety of CWI fleet vehicles.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds routinely and additional weight with assistance. Extended periods of standing in a climate changing, warehouse environment is required.
Additional Instructions for Applicants:
All candidates must reside within, or be willing to relocate to, a reasonable commuting distance from CWI. Employment visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
