Parking Patroller Specialist

Job Summary:

Parking Patroller Specialists mainly work outdoors and must become familiar with UWF Parking Regulations. Duties include lifting and moving signs and sign posts, digging holes and placing u-posts, attaching signage to u-posts, hanging and removing trolley posters, replacing lights, driving to pick up signage and accessories and other items as needed, assisting with many physically demanding parking-related services around campus.

Other duties include, but are not limited to: Writing citations, answering parking-related questions in the office, assisting in traffic and crowd control for events on campus, rendering assistance to motorists as needed, and other tasks as designated.

Minimum Qualifications:

A high school diploma and two years of appropriate experience and possession of a valid driver's license. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Position Qualifications:

Must be able to regularly lift 50 lbs. Must be able to regularly climb a ladder. Must have a valid driver's license. Ability to interact positively with the public creating excellent customer service relations even in difficult situations. Demonstrate the ability to present ideas logically. Motivated and enthusiastic with strong work ethics. Ability to work independently and in team situations. Ability to be a knowledgeable and professional representative of parking services when visiting other departments, as well in the presence of vendors, students, and visitors to the campus

Preferred Qualifications:

Prefer candidate with experience or comfortable working in extreme environments, such as heat and rain. Prefer basic computer knowledge (email and word processing) Ability and experience to work independently.

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

  • 80% - Patrolling parking lots for violations, safety hazards, and anything else that may be a cause for concern within the parking lots and exiting roadways. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Lifting and moving signs and sign posts, digging holes and placing u-posts, attaching signage to u-posts, hanging and removing trolley posters, replacing lights, driving to pick up signage and accessories and other items as needed, assisting with many physically demanding parking-related services around campus. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Assisting in the office by answering parking-related questions, working at the front desk, manning the phone to give information or take messages, or other tasks inside where assistance is needed. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Assisting other departments as needed, such as carrying items to set up for an event, delivering items from one place to the next, assisting in traffic and crowd control for events on campus, rendering assistance to motorists, and other tasks as designated - (Essential)
