Job Summary: This position provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all physical aspects of residential facilities, to include custodial services, maintenance and repair, grounds, and vendor-managed services. The position ensures safe, well-maintained, clean, and welcoming residential environments that support student success, safety, and satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience: or a bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience.
Position Qualifications: Management of a combined labor force where all facets of building maintenance, construction, and material handling are covered.
Preferred Qualifications Background and experience in higher education.
Essential Functions / Job Duties:
  • 30% - Lead and manage custodial, maintenance, landscaping/grounds operations, and vendor services. Supervise assigned facilities staff and ensure work meets quality standards and timelines. Recommend and implement operating policies and procedures to improve efficiency and service quality. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Develop, monitor, and control the facilities budget. Approve purchasing of supplies, equipment, and contracted services to support residential operations. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Prioritize and manage routine, preventive, and deferred maintenance projects. Complete regular building inspections to identify facility needs. Coordinate emergency repairs and facility-related incident responses in partnership with Housing and Residential Life Staff. Serve as an essential employee during campus emergencies, including participation in emergency response and recovery efforts. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Conduct inspections and maintain required documentation and records, including state-mandated inspections of life safety equipment. Ensure compliance with safety codes, ADA, and environmental standards. Work closely with the State Fire Marshal and other agencies. Assist with fire drills, emergency evacuations, and corrective actions. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Serve as a liaison with residents, Housing and Residence Life staff, Facilities Management, Procurement, Environmental Health and Services, and vendors to address facility concerns and coordinate projects. Ensure timely, clear communication regarding maintenance and safety. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Contribute to long-term planning for renovations and sustainability initiatives. Support departmental events such as move-in/move-out and participate in professional development and university committees. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Serve on the Housing and Residence Life on-call rotation to respond to facility emergencies and urgent issues outside normal business hours. Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of Housing and Residence Life and the university mission. - (Essential)
