Your Impact:
We’re looking for a hands-on systems specialist with strong Chris21 experience to support and optimise our payroll systems. You’ll take ownership of configuration, reporting, upgrades and day-to-day system support, while partnering with Payroll, People Services, IT and vendors to ensure our payroll operations remain accurate and reliable.
This role suits someone who enjoys the technical depth of payroll systems but also works well with people, translating system detail into clear, practical guidance. It’s an ideal opportunity for a specialist who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys solving problems and takes pride in system accuracy and compliance.
Please note this role will be offered on an 8-month fixed term contract basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support across payroll systems, with a focus on Chris21 and ADP
- Troubleshoot and resolve system and data issues, escalating to vendors as needed
- Configure and maintain system settings in line with legislation, EBAs and business policy
- Manage upgrades, release notes, regression testing and documentation
- Support payroll operations with reporting, reconciliations and data insights
- Develop and maintain SOPs, training materials and user resources
- Assist with EBA-related configuration updates, data validation and testing
- Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency
- Contribute system expertise to small projects and support payroll dependencies in larger programs
- Partner closely with Payroll, People Services, IT and vendors to ensure smooth integrations and system outcomes
About You:
- Proven experience working with Chris21 (essential)
- Solid background in payroll system administration within a medium-to-large organisation
- Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processes, compliance and data integrity
- Confident troubleshooting configuration and system issues independently
- Able to translate technical detail into clear, business-friendly guidance
- Proactive, organised and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical skills and a continuous improvement mindset
- Experience supporting or leading system upgrades, integrations and testing cycles
- Collaborative and comfortable working across multiple stakeholder groups
