The Opportunity

The Research Administrative Officer plays a vital role in supporting the successful operation of the Monash University Clinical Trials Centre by delivering high-quality research administration and professional support services. Working across a diverse range of activities, you will help coordinate clinical trial operations, streamline administrative processes and provide trusted support to staff and stakeholders, contributing to research excellence and the delivery of world-class clinical trials.

This position will be responsible for delivering a broad range of administrative and operational services that enable the efficient running of the Centre. The role supports office operations, project administration, committee and meeting coordination, financial processes, travel management, events and communications, while providing timely advice and responsive customer service to staff, researchers and external stakeholders. You will contribute to research activities and administration such as maintaining accurate records and reporting systems, monitoring of trials and coordinating data management activities. The position will also develop and maintain documentation including standard operating procedures and communications, support compliance with University policies and occupational health and safety requirements, and identify opportunities to improve processes, service quality and operational efficiency. Building strong collaborative relationships across the University, health services and external partners will be central to ensuring the successful delivery of Centre activities.

To be successful in this role you will have outstanding administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within deadlines. You will demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the confidence to work collaboratively while exercising sound judgement and initiative. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, advanced computer skills across Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, and experience developing effective administrative processes will be essential. Familiarity with clinical trial processes and regulatory requirements will be highly regarded.
