The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Research Fellow or Senior Research Fellow to join a multidisciplinary research program at the forefront of digital health and lifestyle medicine. This role provides leadership across projects focused on behaviour change, including the development, implementation and evaluation of interventions targeting physical activity, nutrition, sleep and 24-hour movement behaviours. The position also leads work in digital tools, wearable technologies, AI-enabled health coaching systems and immersive digital platforms, while supporting data collection activities at the BrainPark, Clayton Campus.

Responsibilities include behaviour change research and intervention design across funded and emerging projects, working with national and international collaborators. The role contributes to major programs such as ProPASS, UK Biobank and other large epidemiological platforms, translating findings into real-world behavioural interventions. It also involves grant development, managing research teams and budgets, supervising staff and higher degree research students and delivering high-quality outputs including peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations and stakeholder engagement.

We are seeking someone with a PhD in behavioural science, health psychology, public health, exercise science, or a related discipline with postdoctoral research experience. A strong track record of publications in leading peer-reviewed journals, success in competitive grant applications and demonstrated capability in research leadership and supervision is essential. Experience in digital health interventions, wearable and accelerometry-based data, co-design methodologies and implementation science will also be highly regarded.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative, data-driven research that advances behaviour change science and translates evidence into meaningful health impact and we look forward to receiving your application.
