The Opportunity
Monash University is seeking an outstanding academic and executive leader for its next Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics; a high-impact role with responsibility for advancing a faculty of strategic importance to the University.
Reporting to the Provost, the Dean will set the vision, direction and tone for the Faculty, taking full accountability for performance, culture and outcomes. You will lead the design and delivery of strategy, ensuring alignment with the University’s strategic plan, and translating ambition into action across education, research, engagement and revenue.
You will drive focused growth in student demand, course quality, research income, digital delivery and partnerships. The role demands purposeful engagement with, and active embedding of the Faculty, in the business community - positioning it as a convenor of ideas, talent and influence and strengthening industry aligned teaching, research and graduate outcomes. Based primarily at Caulfield and Clayton, the role works closely with Monash University Malaysia and requires engagement across campuses and international partners.
The Person
The next Dean will be a confident, outward-looking and future oriented leader. Someone ready to lead at scale, engage deeply with industry and position the Faculty at the forefront of global business education and research in an AI enabled world.
The successful candidate will have international standing, with a distinguished record of research excellence and experience leading a faculty, school or major portfolio in a research-intensive university.
You will bring strategic, collegiate judgement, advocate effectively for your Faculty while upholding whole of University priorities, and lead with a people centred approach that values capability, equity and diversity.
With an exemplary record as an innovator and change leader, you will demonstrate the capacity to deliver sustainable impact in complex environments, supported by global perspective, geopolitical awareness, and the ability to engage credibly with senior external stakeholders and translate vision into results.
