The Opportunity

The Centre for Health Economics is seeking a Research Fellow to join their team, contributing to a dynamic program of patient-centred evaluation of health technologies. The role focuses on health outcomes measurement and stated preference research, including the design and delivery of discrete choice experiments (DCEs) to assess the value of patient-reported experience and outcome measures alongside quality-adjusted life-years. You will be involved in focus group design and delivery, qualitative data analysis, attribute development, and the implementation of DCEs, as well as contributing to high-quality research outputs.

Working closely with investigators and a broad network of collaborators, you will engage with decision-makers, patient representatives and researchers across disciplines and institutions. The role also includes contributing to research dissemination, funding applications and academic activities, alongside supporting supervision, administrative tasks and occasional teaching aligned to your research area.

As the successful candidate, you will hold a graduate qualification with training in both qualitative and quantitative methods, and bring experience applying qualitative approaches to inform the design of stated-preference surveys. You will have demonstrated expertise in stated-preference methods within outcome measurement, including experience conducting focus groups and interviews, as well as knowledge of health technology assessment processes.

You will be able to work both independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary research environment, with strong organisational skills and a proven ability to set and achieve goals. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills will support the production of high-quality research outputs, and you will be confident using analytical software such as Ngene, STATA or R to undertake robust analysis.
