The Opportunity

Join the Department of Nutrition, Dietetics & Food as a Technical Officer and support the Nutrition Research and Clinical Trials Laboratory and Commercial Kitchen. This role provides technical services to ensure high-quality research through equipment setup, lab operations, and safe handling of specimens, maintaining efficiency, safety and compliance.

The Technical Officer supports research and experimental activities by setting up experiments, collecting and analysing data and providing guidance to staff, students and stakeholders. The role contributes to improving procedures and quality assurance, resolves operational issues and ensures compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards. This position offers the chance to work collaboratively within a dynamic research environment across diverse technical and academic projects.

The position requires a tertiary qualification in a relevant field or substantial relevant skills and experience, alongside strong organisational, analytical and technical abilities. Knowledge of research or laboratory technologies, proficiency with specialised equipment and the ability to develop procedures and train others are essential to success.
