The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, HR Business Partnering, the Group Manager will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping and driving people strategy across a defined portfolio at Monash University. In this influential position, you will partner closely with senior executives to deliver strategic, high‑impact HR support and guide the implementation of a broad range of organisational people initiatives.
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the development and delivery of strategic HR Business Partnering services aligned to University and portfolio priorities.
- Coaching, motivating and developing a team of HR professionals, fostering a high‑performance and client‑service culture.
- Overseeing talent and capability initiatives, workforce and succession planning, performance management, leadership development, culture, and engagement activities.
- Championing major change and transformation initiatives, identifying opportunities to uplift organisational effectiveness and enhance HR service delivery.
- Ensuring strong governance through effective risk, compliance and quality‑assurance practices.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A relevant postgraduate qualification with extensive senior management experience in a complex organisation, or an equivalent combination of experience and education/training.
- Exceptional leadership and stakeholder‑engagement capabilities, with a strong track record of delivering client‑focused HR services and building high‑performing teams.
- Excellent strategic planning, organisational and decision‑making skills, including the ability to navigate complexity and develop innovative, people‑centred solutions.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation and influencing abilities, with the confidence to advise senior leaders on sensitive and complex matters.
