The Opportunity

The School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine invites internal applications for the position of Project Officer within the National Gynae-Oncology Registry (NGOR), Cancer Research Program.

NGOR monitors standards of care for women diagnosed with gynaecological cancers across Australia, with a focus on improving treatment quality and patient outcomes. This role supports delivery of the multi-million dollar Cervical Cancer Project, a major national data linkage initiative aligned with Australia’s National Strategy for the Elimination of Cervical Cancer.

Reporting to the NGOR Program Manager, the Project Officer will provide high-level project coordination and administrative support to ensure timely delivery of project milestones. The role works closely with hospitals, research partners, government stakeholders and registry teams, and plays a key role in managing ethics and governance processes, coordinating documentation, and supporting committee and stakeholder engagement activities.

About the Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing end-to-end project coordination support, including scoping deliverables, tracking progress and preparing reports
  • Managing ethics and governance applications, progress reports and site approvals
  • Developing briefings, position papers, presentations and project documentation
  • Coordinating meetings and providing executive support to project committees
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and communication
  • Analysing project information and contributing to issue resolution and process improvement
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance registry operations

About You

You are an organised and proactive project professional with experience supporting complex research or health-related initiatives.

You will bring:

  • A degree in a health-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated project coordination and administrative expertise
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and work both independently and collaboratively
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced computer literacy, including experience using project management systems

Experience with REDCap, academic writing, qualitative data analysis, or familiarity with cancer diagnosis and treatment pathways will be highly regarded.
