The Opportunity

Join the world-leading team at Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Research Centre (ANZIC-RC) within the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine (SPHPM) Monash University. As a major clinical research methods centre for Intensive Care across Australia and New Zealand, the centre delivers innovative research programs spanning surveys and pilot studies through to large, multicentre clinical trials. Their work drives advances in critical care across key areas including sepsis, traumatic brain injury, mechanical ventilation, sedation, pneumonia, early mobility, nutrition in critical illness, patient blood management and ECMO — improving outcomes for the sickest patients in our community.

We are seeking an outstanding Research Fellow to play a pivotal role in the rapidly expanding consumer engagement program - CONNECT. Established in 2023, CONNECT is now the largest dedicated consumer engagement initiative in critical care across Australia and New Zealand. Led by Ms Ann-Marie Baker and Associate Professor Emma Ridley, CONNECT brings together patients, families and caregivers with lived Intensive Care experience to partner meaningfully with clinicians and researchers. This position will co-lead the strategic and operational delivery of CONNECT, embedding genuine, long-term consumer partnerships across ANZIC-RC research and registry activities — from protocol development, qualitative research and data interpretation to manuscript preparation and grant submissions.

If you are ready to help shape research that is relevant, accessible and impactful — we invite you to be part of our team.
