The role offers the opportunity to shape research data strategy at scale, across a diverse and ambitious research community and at a time of significant technological change. You’ll work alongside world-class researchers and institutional leaders to coordinate and embed best practices in research data governance and drive innovation in research data management.

As the Lead Research Data Management Specialist, you’ll champion best practices, policies, and standards that position research data as a critical institutional asset. You’ll design and optimise processes across the entire data lifecycle, embed FAIR principles, and ensure compliance with ethical, legal, and cybersecurity requirements. Your expertise will enable Monash to advance open science, secure sensitive data, and align infrastructure investments with research priorities. One or more of the following certifications would be an advantage in this role: FAIR Data Stewardship training; Information security certifications; Project management; Data governance or privacy-related training.
