The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Risk & Compliance, the Senior Group Compliance Manager provides strategic leadership of the compliance elements of the Group Risk Management Framework (and associated policy and procedure). The position acts as a source of expert compliance insight for senior management, providing advice on the management of regulatory and other obligations. The Senior Group Compliance Manager will lead the Monash compliance assurance program across the Monash Group, working in close collaboration with central portfolios, controlled entities and faculties to ensure that Monash complies with its regulatory and other obligations. This role will also prepare and present comprehensive reports and recommendations to senior management and governance bodies, including the Risk & Audit Committee of the University Council.
About You
You are an experienced compliance professional whose career is distinguished by your ability to lead complex programs and influence others in a large and complex organisation. With exceptional communication and consulting skills, you are adept at explaining complex legislative material clearly and negotiating at a high level. Postgraduate qualifications are preferred, and applied knowledge of governance, risk and compliance (GRC) systems is very important. You are a flexible and adaptable leader focused on broader strategic objectives, with an appetite for leveraging technology, including AI, in governance and compliance work.
