The Opportunity
Join a dynamic team supporting Engineering Student Teams and the Monash Makerspace. You'll play a key role in delivering hands-on Health, Safety, and Well-being (HSW) support, driving risk management strategies, and fostering a strong safety culture across high-energy, collaborative environments.
In this role, you’ll coordinate inductions, training, inspections, and risk assessments, manage safety documentation, attend technical testing events, and investigate hazards—all while ensuring compliance with legal and governance standards.
We’re looking for someone with technical and OHS knowledge, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and experience working in complex environments including practical experience within a range of engineering and manufacturing technologies including both CNC and manual machining, electrical, hydraulics, woodwork, composites and metal fabrication.
Shift Work Requirement
This role includes shift work to provide oversight and support during extended Makerspace hours. Shifts will include evenings and weekends. Candidates will be asked to indicate their availability as part of the application process.

- No.2: Knowledge and understanding of current OHS legislation and statutory requirements and the ability to provide strategic advice to key stakeholders
- No.3: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including experience in developing professional communication material, delivering effective presentations, provide authoritative advice and the ability to address sensitive and complex issues
- No.7: Some experience working in an engineering industry, technical workshop, a university or laboratory/research-based environment with practical experience within a range of engineering and manufacturing technologies including both CNC and manual machining, electrical, hydraulics, woodwork, composites and metal fabrication
