The Opportunity

The Department of Occupational Therapy is seeking a dedicated and values-driven academic to join our supportive and collaborative team as a Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) for a 12-month fixed-term appointment.

In this role, you will contribute to the development and delivery of our Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) program. This student-centred course is designed to prepare graduates for meaningful, person-focused practice.

You will lead and support teaching in areas that explore the psychological and behavioural foundations of health and well-being, and play an important role in building students’ research capabilities in both qualitative and quantitative methods. You will also supervise honours and postgraduate research projects and contribute to impactful, community-focused research within the School. A degree in psychology or a related field would be suitable to support the requirements of this role, or qualifications in occupational therapy and psychology or with occupational therapy and/or psychology-based practice experience.

About You

You are a passionate educator and researcher who values relationships, equity and excellence in healthcare. You enjoy working collaboratively and bring a nurturing, inclusive approach to your work with students and colleagues.

You will have:

  • A doctoral or master’s degree in occupational therapy, health psychology or a related field

  • Experience in teaching and curriculum development within higher education

  • A strong interest or background in the application of psychological theories in healthcare or occupational therapy

  • A commitment to mentoring students and junior staff

  • A research profile (appropriate to Level B or C) that aligns with areas such as psychology, psychological approaches to care, rehabilitation, mental health, ageing, disability or social inclusion

  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to work within diverse, interdisciplinary teams
