The Opportunity

The Contracts & Commercial Solutions team is looking for a professional Strategic Sourcing Specialist that applies high-level expertise in the planning, delivery and successful deployment of complex strategic sourcing activities across the University. This entails works closely with senior stakeholders, both internal and external, across all faculties and divisions to deliver complex and high-value tenders and strategic sourcing projects in accordance with agreed timeframes, within budget and to achieve strategic business outcomes, with a focus on ICT vendors and relevant contract. 

The Specialist’s role would include business case development, market engagement, leading negotiations, extensive supplier and stakeholder management. A key focus is on continuous improvement initiatives, together with identification and mitigation of risk.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A great combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in an IT environment 
  • Experience in the establishment and management of commercial ICT contracts, including provision of expert, strategic advice, project management, reporting and consulting at a high level
  • Strong understanding of ICT goods and services and emerging trends in this market
  • Demonstrated experience in competitive procurement functions with sourcing, contract and stakeholder management skills from a commercial or business background
