The Opportunity

The Faculty of Engineering are on the lookout for the next Sponsorship Development and Relationship Specialist to join the Office of the Dean.

Monash University’s Faculty of Engineering is one of the largest in Australia, renowned worldwide for the quality and calibre of our teaching, research and graduates. We offer a comprehensive range of undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate and higher degree research programs in a wide range of engineering disciplines.

The Sponsorship Development and Relationship Specialist is responsible for supporting the Manager, Monash Innovation Labs and Makerspace Network to develop, implement and operationalise strategy, particularly related to philanthropy, industry based sponsorships and community engagement aligned to Impact 2030.

Reporting to the Manager, Monash Innovation Labs and Makerspace Network the successful candidate will create the operational frameworks required to enable the development of opportunities to advance the endeavours of the faculty and its academics and students. 

In this role you will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Leading the development and implementation of scalable processes and frameworks that align with the Faculty and Monash’s strategic plans to provide an enhanced student experience and excellent education and research outcomes

  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with key industry stakeholders and undertake networking to support sponsorship project objectives by networking, liaising, presenting information and coordinating or attending stakeholder meetings

  • Manage the implementation of sponsorship project deliverables including planning, overseeing and implementing change management strategies associated with project outcomes

  • Undertake research and analysis, devise solutions and provide practical and expert advice to senior management to address complex project related issues

  • Prepare position papers, briefings, reports and presentations for a range of audiences, including senior management to report progress on sponsorship programs

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and knowledge:

  • Postgraduate degree or extensive experience and management expertise

  • Substantial experience in developing corporate sponsorship models including end-to-end project management and provision of authoritative, expert advice with a focus on customer service excellence

  • A sound knowledge of the generation of funding and trends in university engagement and extensive experience in developing business.

  • Proven ability to attract industry and/or philanthropic contributions.

  • Highly developed planning and organisational skills, with experience establishing priorities, allocating resources and meeting deadlines

  • Advanced computer literacy, particularly with current project management software and related application capabilities

  • Highly developed relationship management and consulting skills, including the ability to interact, influence and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders

  • Highly developed analytical, evaluation and research skills including demonstrated ability to quickly assimilate new concepts and information and deliver positive, innovative solutions
