The Opportunity
Take your career to the next level and play a key role in the commercial activities, financial management procedures, and business planning processes, workflow, and systems of Water Sensitive Cities Australia (WSCA).
With support from the CEO, provide leadership and direction of WSCA’s finance and operations function and be responsible for the delivery of high-quality services and advice to a growing enterprise spanning a broad range of Australian and international research and advisory activities.
As the Finance and Operations Manager, you will provide vital financial and operational support as well as expert advice to the WSCA teams in all aspects of office finance, management and operations, including:
- partner funded projects
- accounting
- budgeting
- forecasting
- commercial activities
- costing and contracting
- risk management
- legal review
As a key interaction point for financial and operational matters between WSCA, other Monash Sustainable Development Institute (MSDI) teams and the Monash University central portfolio stakeholders you will also:
- contribute to strategic planning
- provide expert advice to inform financial capability and strategic issues
- develop and maintain strong partnerships and high-level relationships
- manage and oversee risk, compliance and quality assurance processes
Ideally, you will be a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) or a Chartered Accountant with management experience, outstanding communication skills, a strategic mindset and the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
