Within the Faculty, the School of Earth, Atmosphere, and Environment (EAE) is dedicated to advancing environmental solutions through research and education. Specializing in Atmospheric/Climate Sciences, Physical Geography, and Geology, the School hosts state-of-the-art facilities, fosters global collaborations, and leads significant initiatives such as the ARC Centre of Excellence for Weather in the 21st Century. About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Lecturer (Level A) to join the Monash Geomorphology Lab within EAE. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to undergraduate teaching, research, and professional development in Earth Sciences.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching: Deliver undergraduate courses in at least three of the following areas:
- Introductory-level geomorphology
- Fluvial geomorphology with a focus on catchment hydrology
- Field geomorphology in an Australian context, referencing Quaternary Science
- Programming for data analysis and presentation in Earth Sciences
Research: Conduct collaborative and independent research within the Monash Geomorphology Lab, with opportunities to co-mentor research students. Research areas include aeolian geomorphology, arid environment evolution, and planetary geomorphology (e.g., Mars and Titan).
Development: Work towards publishing research, developing teaching expertise, and securing competitive research funding with mentorship and support.
About You
This position requires you to hold a doctorate in a relevant discipline or a closely related field. As an emerging academic, you bring a strong passion for teaching and research in Earth Sciences. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to contribute to the School's educational and research objectives.
