Based at our Northam (Avon) depot, you’ll join a skilled Rollingstock Maintenance team keeping locomotives, wagons and freight services moving safely across Western Australia.

What you’ll be doing
- Keeping locomotives and wagons running safely through service, repair and maintenance work
- Completing inspections, fault-finding and corrective maintenance on rollingstock assets
- Working to scheduled maintenance programs and reporting on completed work
- Following technical and operational specifications to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes
- Maintaining accurate records for asset condition, maintenance activity and costing systems
- Applying safe work practices, quality standards and continuous improvement across daily tasks
- Supporting other WA maintenance depots in line with the EA agreement
About the role:
Working as part of Aurizon's Avon Rollingstock Maintenance team, you will be required to exercise your fabrication trade skills in servicing, repairing and maintaining rollingstock in order to ensure the efficient running of freight services.
- To conduct routine corrective maintenance and fault repair on wagons, locomotive fabrication, and repair work as required
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with technical and operational specifications
- Maintain all records and associated documentation relating to asset condition, maintenance programs and costing systems
- Report on actual work performed against the scheduled work program
- Progress the implementation and application of work procedures and practices in pursuit of ensuring continuous quality improvement.
About you:
- Strong commitment to safety
- Current unrestricted WA driving licence
- Experience with Aluminium welding (desirable)
- Fabrication Trade Certificate
- High level of skill in interpreting technical instructions and drawings
- High level of knowledge of functions, defects and fault finding with equipment
Locomotive and wagon experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided
