About the Role:
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Category Adviser to join our Procurement and Enterprise Services team. This role is positioned within the Bulk and Containerised Freight sector, overseeing procurement for Above Rail categories, including Mobile Plant & Equipment and Bulk and Containerised Freight. Additionally, this role provides procurement support for Growth and Strategic Projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with business goals.
- Lead medium complexity sourcing activities, contract negotiations, warranty, and dispute resolution processes.
- Manage relationships and contracts with Tier 2, 3, and 4 suppliers. Support the Category Management Leader with Tier 1 suppliers.
- Work closely with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks related to category management and sourcing.
- Monitor and report on benefits and performance outcomes related to procurement activities.
- Ensure adherence to relevant legislation and corporate policies. Drive continuous improvement initiatives with a strong commercial and business acumen.
About You:
- Substantial experience in negotiating and managing commercial relationships within an ASX-listed company.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field (preferred).
- Nationally recognized commercial accreditation (e.g., CIPS, CA, CPA, CFA) is advantageous.
- High competence in SAP (purchasing) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong technical knowledge in procurement and supply chain management.
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and consultation skills to build and maintain productive relationships.
- Demonstrated experience in analysing data sets to measure benefits and performance.
