Childcare Center Cook– 11/12 Pay Plan in Long Beach
Under the general direction of the Isabel Patterson Child Development Center Director (IPCDC), the IPCDC Cook is responsible for the full range of duties associated with the implementation of a daily nutrition program for approximately 170 preschool and school age children and 25 adult caregivers who sit with children during mealtimes. This includes meal and menu planning for breakfast, lunch, snack foods, food supply shopping, ordering, receiving, inventory, food preparation, cooking and dispensing; clean up, maintenance and organization of equipment; utensils, and work storage areas. Additional planning and preparation is required for children with special dietary needs and/or restrictions. Incumbent is responsible for adhering to the requirements of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) including record keeping and compliance with all licensing and public health regulations and the IPCDC meal and children’s program policies and procedures including guidelines for interacting with children. The incumbent provides services that are equitable, inclusive and provide culturally sensitive services that enhance the quality of campus life.
