- Employment Type: Full - time (35 hours a week)

- Remuneration: $113,891 base (+ 17% Super, leave loading)
- Location: Kensington, Sydney
Why this role matters
The Postdoctoral fellow will contribute to the development of a method to detect biomarkers for Parkinson’s disease using our proprietary single molecule instruments. The role will be to validate the assay and examine the effects of comorbidities on the results. In particular, the postdoctoral fellow will examine the link between the metabolic pathways and neurodegeneration.
Some key skills required:
- A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake high quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision, demonstrated ability to apply for funding and awards.
- Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
- Background in lipid metabolism as it relates to pathology, complemented by hands-on experience in cell culture and biological chemistry techniques.
- Comprehensive knowledge of current research, methodologies, challenges, and advancements in Parkinson’s disease.
- Demonstrated experience in single molecule spectroscopy and microscopy
