      The mission of the Kendall College of Art and Design (KCAD) is to prepare students for leadership in design, the visual arts, and art history through innovative, collaborative education that fosters intellectual growth and individual creativity and promotes the ethical and civic responsibilities of artists and designers, locally and globally. The Dean of KCAD is charged with the overall responsibility for the advancement of this mission and success of the College's academic programs through collaboration with faculty, students, staff, and others to provide strategic leadership to advance the overall quality and aspirational goals of the College. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong commitment to student success through leadership experience, talent, articulation of a shared vision, and the ability to build the future of KCAD with the faculty, administration, and staff. The Dean is responsible for college operations and academic programming on both the KCAD campus in Grand Rapids, MI and the main campus in Big Rapids, MI. The anticipated start date of this position Is July 1st, 2026; however, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed. Required: Terminal degree from an accredited program in a discipline represented in or closely aligned with the Kendall College of Art and Design. Business/Industry experience sufficient to qualify for tenure status and the rank of full professor in one of the departments/schools within the college. Five or more years of documented full-time or equivalent employment in higher education administration. Three or more years of demonstrated full-time or equivalent experience in higher education as a department chair/head or higher. Prior experience with alumni, donor, and community partnerships and engagement. Demonstrated understanding of collective bargaining agreements. Prior experience with accreditation and assessment of academic programs. Experience In Interdisciplinary and/or inter-professional education.

      Under general direction from the General Counsel or his/her designee, advise and represent the University in various legal matters. Confer with and advise University officials on a wide variety of legal matters/topics, constitutional law, general business and contractual matters, including issues relating to public corporations, government regulatory compliance, and employment law. Interpret, revise, and draft policies of the University, including Board of Trustee policies. Collaborate with University officials regarding effective use and implementation of policies. Conduct legal research and prepare policies, resolutions, memorandums of law, and legal opinions. Draft, review, and administer contracts. Represent the University in legal proceedings. Conduct University litigation and claims and their defense. Monitor the adoption of significant legislation, the issuance of significant court or administrative rules, regulations, guidelines, or interpretations affecting the University, and advise appropriate University officials of the same. Monitor and coordinate litigation assigned to external counsel. Assist in formulating and implementing institutional strategies for preventing legal problems. Provide legal training for University administration through systems, programs, etc. Collect and tabulate data from a variety of sources, including the collection of documents/data for responses to subpoenas, Freedom of Information Act requests and requests for legal assistance through interviews or written correspondence .Required: J.D./L.L.B. degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Two or more years of experience as an attorney. Membership in the State Bar of Michigan or eligibility to gain admission into the State Bar of Michigan within a short time after hire.

      Assistant Professor - Department of Interdisciplinary Studies in Big Rapids, MI 49307

      University College at Ferris State University seeks a diverse group of outstanding applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies position to teach undergraduate courses that emphasize integrative programming, cross-disciplinary learning, and support for students designing individualized academic pathways aligned with their educational and career goals. The role requires developing and delivering innovative integrative curricula that connect multiple fields of study, fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and real-world problem solving, also advising and mentoring students, contributing to program and course development, and engaging in service to the department, college, and university to advance interdisciplinary teaching and learning. Candidates are expected to foster a meaningful learning experience for our students, faculty are expected to be student-oriented, advise, and integrate current technology into the learning environment. Faculty will also participate in collaborative efforts to foster curricular efforts, participate in assessment of student learning, and further develop programmatic enhancement. Specifically, the candidate must be willing to engage students outside the classroom, support and expand our existing academic initiatives, and be willing to mentor students beyond a traditional academic advising role. In support of teaching, candidates will engage in scholarly/professional activities and participate in department, college, and university committees. Off-campus and online teaching may be required. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses.       Adjunct Instructor - School of Education in Big Rapids, MI 49307

      The School of Education seeks candidates to teach on a semester-by-semester, as needed basis, in the areas of elementary and secondary education. The instructor is expected to use high-quality instructional strategies, integrate theory and practice, and support student success in coursework and clinical experiences. Candidates must be available to teach in person (main or other campuses) or synchronously online during the hours of 9 am- 5 pm, with occasional evening courses. This is a pooled position. One or more candidates may be hired as needed to teach courses on a semester-by-semester basis. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses or approved FSU sites. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. The anticipated start dates for these positions are August 2026 or January 2027. Required: Master's degree in Education or closely related field. Possess or be eligible for MI teaching certification. A minimum of 3 years teaching at the K-12 level.
