    • Assistant or Associate Professor of HVACR in Big Rapids, MI 49307

      The Department of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position. Primary responsibilities include; preparing and delivering courses, utilizing effective methods that ensure that all course outcomes are met, and delivering courses in both a classroom and an on-line format. Advising students, recruiting students, developing industry relationships, developing curriculum, and serving on various committees within the department, college and the university. For in-person or hybrid teaching positions: Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date of this position is August of 2025 at the earliest and January of 2026 at the latest. Required: Master's Degree in a related discipline and three years full-time, relevant HVAC industry experience OR Bachelor's Degree in HVACR and five years full-time, relevant HVAC industry experience OR Bachelor's Degree or higher in a closely related field and eight years full-time, relevant HVAC industry experience OR Associate's Degree in HVACR and eight years full-time, HVAC industry experience.     • Adjunct Faculty - Art History in Grand Rapids, MI 49503

      The Art History program at Ferris State University’s Kendall College of Art and Design (KCAD) in Grand Rapids, MI seeks qualified candidates to teach Art History courses. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Courses are to be taught in person at KCAD in Grand Rapids. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The Art History Program serves students in all the art and design programs as well as Art History majors. We seek an outstanding educator who is an engaging speaker and can motivate and inspire students. Teaching assignments within the BA program will include the first-year Art History survey (Global Art I and II), with the possibility of other classes offered in the Art History program. Required: Master’s degree in Art History. Experience teaching a fully global Art History survey (covering multiple geographical regions beyond the west) in face-to-face classes as the instructor of record.

    • Adjunct Instructor 1 - Exercise Science in Multiple Locations

      This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed on a semester-by-semester basis to teach lecture and laboratory classes for students for the Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science degree. The qualified applicants for this pooled position will be a First Aid CPR Instructor certified through the American Heart Association. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. Potential courses include Introduction to Exercise Science, Introduction to Fitness and Wellness, and First Aid and Emergency Management. The anticipated start date of this position is August of 2025 at the earliest and January of 2026 at the latest. However, these are estimated dates and can be revised if needed. Required: Master’s degree in Exercise Science or closely related field (e.g. Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Athletic Training, or Human Performance). First Aid CPR Instructor certified through the American Heart Association. Minimum of two years of work experience in their field of study and/or in higher education.

      Teach AAS degree level coursework in the College of Engineering Technology. Depending on qualifications, subjects taught could include manual drivelines, brakes, electrical, engines, steering and suspension, electronic fuel management, chassis electrical, automatic transmissions, heating ventilation and air conditioning, service area or automotive machining. A focus on student success is expected. Office hours are required with at least one hour for each class taught. Use of current technology is expected. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. This posting is used for face to face and/or online instruction. For in-person or hybrid teaching positions, candidates must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. Courses are to be taught in person on Ferris State University’s Big Rapids campus. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. For courses that are taught 100% online, the candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan, Illinois (excluding Chicago), Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, or Wisconsin after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date of this position is August 2025 at the earliest and January 2026 at the latest.
