Adjunct Instructor 1 - Architecture and Facility Management in Multiple Locations
The Architecture and Facility Management Department seeks applications for a part-time, temporary faculty position. Responsibilities involve teaching one or more courses in the following degree programs: AAS in Architectural Technology, or BS in Architecture and Sustainability, or BS in Facility Management. In addition to the more common topics associated with the degree programs, experience in architectural design, construction detailing and documents utilizing AutoCAD and Revit, digital architectural presentation utilizing software such as Revit, Formit, Autodesk 3DS Max, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, and/or experience in Facility Management, will be considered. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date of this position is August 2025 at the earliest and January 2026 at the latest. Required: For 100 and 200 level courses: A Bachelor of Science in Architecture. For 300 and 400 level Architecture courses: A NAAB - accredited Bachelor or Master of Architecture, or a Bachelor of Science in Architecture plus a master’s degree in a related field such as building science, design studies, landscape architecture, commensurate with the topic being taught. For 300 and 400 level FM courses: A bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field and a master’s degree in any applicable field, including Education or Business; or a master’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Professional work experience and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The Associate Vice President for Advancement & the Executive Director of the Ferris Foundation provides strategic leadership to a team of gift officers and annual giving professionals to advance Ferris State University’s philanthropic priorities by leading and developing a high-performing team, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and measurable fundraising success. The AVP partners with the VP of University Advancement & Marketing and the university advancement leadership team to establish comprehensive fundraising strategies and integrate best practices, while personally managing a portfolio of high-capacity donors. Additionally, the AVP fosters a culture of cross-campus engagement, collaborating with faculty, athletics, and key stakeholders to enhance donor participation and secure transformational and planned gifts that drive long-term institutional growth. Required: Bachelor’s degree. At least 8 years of progressive experience in advancement within higher education. Demonstrated success in cultivating, soliciting, and closing six-figure and seven-figure gifts from various sources. Experience with capital campaigns.

The Philanthropy Officer is responsible for identifying, qualifying, cultivating, and soliciting individual mid-level major gift prospects that are capable of making gift commitments of $10,000 or more to support Ferris State University’s funding priorities. The School of Design and Manufacturing invites applications for an adjunct faculty position in the Manufacturing Engineering Technology program. Position requires teaching undergraduate-level lecture and laboratory coursework in a "hands-on" academic environment. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. This posting is used for face to face and/or online instruction. For in-person or hybrid teaching positions, candidates must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University’s campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. For courses that are taught 100% online, the candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan, Illinois (excluding Chicago), Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, or Wisconsin after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date of this position is August of 2025 at the earliest and January of 2026 at the latest. Required: A master’s or higher-level degree in field or closely related field and 3 years of relevant industrial experience (all courses up through 400 level). A master’s or higher-level degree out of field with at least one bachelor’s or associate degree in field and 5 years of relevant industry experience directly related to courses taught (all courses up through 400 level). A bachelor’s degree in field and 5 years of relevant industry experience directly related to courses taught; or an associate’s degree in field and any baccalaureate degree and 5 years of relevant industry experience (all courses up through 200 level). 3-5 years of relevant industry experience dependent upon degree obtained.
