The Social and Behavioral Sciences Department in the College of Arts, Sciences and Education seeks qualified candidates for a tenure-track position in Geography. The successful candidate will instruct general education and programmatic courses in various areas of human and regional geography, including World Regional Geography, Geography of US and Canada, Geography of Michigan, and other courses in keeping with department needs and candidate expertise. Additionally, our ideal candidate will teach Social Studies Education, a capstone course focused on the C3 framework and instruction of Social Studies content for secondary education teachers-in-training. Our department works closely with the School of Education to deliver content courses, advising, and assessment for Social Studies Education as required by the Michigan Department of Education and various accrediting bodies, and our ideal candidate will help to coordinate these activities and will model evidence-based pedagogical practices in the classroom. Additional responsibilities include advising students; contributing to the department, college, university, and profession through participation on committees and other forms of service or scholarly activity; and participating in appropriate, ongoing professional development. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The start date of this position is August 2026. Required: Ph.D. in Geography or Geography Education. Higher education teaching experience.

Assistant Professor - Finance (Tenure Track - 9 month) in Big Rapids, MI 49307
The College of Business at Ferris State University is seeking applicants for a Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance. Candidates will teach a broad spectrum of undergraduate and graduate finance classes. Classes may include Personal Finance, Financial Management, Financial Markets and Institutions, Investments, Portfolio Management, Derivatives, Real Estate Finance, Mathematics of Finance and other finance courses as needed. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses or approved FSU sites. The candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. Candidates are expected to foster a meaningful learning experience for our students, should be student-oriented, advise, and integrate current technology into the learning environment. In addition to excellence in teaching, selected faculty will engage in scholarly/professional activities and participate in department, college, and university committees. Additionally, faculty will participate in collaborative efforts to foster curricular efforts, participate in assessment of student learning, and further develop programmatic enhancement. We expect the candidate to be willing to engage students outside the classroom, support and expand our existing academic initiatives, and mentor students beyond a traditional academic advising role. The selected candidate should be willing to serve as an advisor for a student investment and wealth management club. Off-campus and online teaching may be required. The anticipated start date of this position is August of 2026 at the earliest and January of 2027 at the latest. Required: PhD in finance from an accredited institution. ABD to be considered if it is completed before starting the position. A year of teaching experience in Finance or related field, or two years of business experience in Finance or related field.

Adjunct Instructor - Core Health Sciences in Multiple Locations
Adjunct Instructor for the Health Administration/Health Information Department. This position includes teaching core and interdisciplinary health courses in the College of Health Professions. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's campuses, or at statewide high schools. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. The candidate(s) selected for the position(s) must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. The Associate Vice President (AVP) for Advancement is a key member of the University Advancement leadership team and an active participant in making strategic decisions affecting fundraising for Ferris State University and the Ferris Foundation. The AVP for Advancement ensures administrative oversight of the University’s major gifts, planned giving, corporate, and foundation fundraising efforts. Working in close collaboration with and reporting to the Vice President for University Advancement, the incumbent fosters a collaborative team culture and establishes metrics for success. Leading by example, the AVP will effectively cultivate and successfully solicit a select portfolio of prospects and donors capable of making transformational contributions to the institution. The AVP will serve as the lead principal gifts officer for the university, working to cultivate, solicit, close, and steward prospective donors with the capacity to make commitments of $500,000 and above. This pivotal role will drive gifts for general university purposes as well as those designated for specific colleges, campaign priorities, or other parts of Ferris State University, and will be essential to catalyzing lead donor support in the readiness and pre-launch phases of university campaigns. Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Minimum of ten years of experience with at least seven to ten years serving at the director level or above; a background of progressively increased responsibility in a comprehensive and sophisticated fundraising program, including supervisory experience.
